The Adoption Process
Finding the perfect match
When you donate funds, volunteer or adopt an animal from us you support a greater concept of respect and humane treatment of animals. You also support an ongoing study and practice of balance and unity between the earth, the animals, the people and the world at large.
When you call or email with interest in a pet, we will send you the adoption application via email which you can fill out and mail or fax back to us.
Once approved, one of our adoption staff will then call to set up a quick home visit. The home visit is not about social or economic status but to ensure that we are not giving our animals to people who might be selling them to labs or hording a mass of animals in their home.
After the home visit, you can come and meet the adoptable cats at our location.
When you find a companion that is perfect for you, we will have your new pet taken for a final vet exam to make sure we are giving you a perfectly healthy new friend. We do not want you to have any health costs in the transition process with your new pet and ensure this by giving the animal a thorough health exam and grooming prior to leaving for their new home.
At Brigid's Crossing we take the time to care for the animals until they are safe in their new homes which we believe makes for a healthy and happy transition for all involved.
All of our animals are chipped, spay/neutered and up-to-date on all shots and their general health exams prior to going home with you.
